We are delighted to hold the 19th International Conference on Organized Molecular Films (ICOMF), which started as the international conference on Langmuir-Blodgett films in Durham, UK, in 1982. Since then, the conference has been held every two years, alternating between Asia and Europe and America.
In the past four decades, the interfacial science has become more and more diverse and the conference scope extended from researches related to Langmuir and Langmuir-Blodgett films to those which try to organize molecular assemblies utilizing various kinds of interface (the conference name changed from LB to ICOMF at the 6th conference held). For instance, the above topics are in our scopes (Now, we consider that research activities on molecular arrangements on solid surfaces in ultra-high vacuum will be also within our scopes). We welcome your submissions for researches on realizing molecular alignment using various interfaces even if your topics are not included in those topic examples, shown above. We expect that the ICOMF 19 will become a platform for a week of scientific exchange and networking for researchers in various fields from all over the world based on the continuation of the spirit of the conference.
The location, central Tokyo, has been chosen strategically. The campus is located 3 min walk from Ochanomizu station, which takes only 5 min train ride from Tokyo station. Many academic institutes, where participants may have collaborative relations, are within an hour’s reach from the venue. Various attractive spots are also within an hour away. Please enjoy the stay before and after science.
We look forward to seeing you in Tokyo!
